This web site was created as an information source in regards to the proposed wind project for northwestern North Dakota. Wind energy is a good thing for personal use. If property owners want to put a windmill next to their own house or barn, that's just fine. But to have 3-5 hundred huge industrial wind turbines put in the face of all man and wildlife currently enjoying the natural landscape of this region is wrong. And the issues here are not just visual or local. The production of transmission lines to support this project will impact landowners and wildlife across this state. To further justify my opposition to the proposed Hartland Wind Farm, I offer four web sites for your review. Just click on the links at the bottom of this page. We all need to hear the other side of the story before this project gets a foot hold. Please forward this web site to friends, organizations, government agencies or elected officials. I believe that wind energy developments should be halted until all environmental issues have been addressed and the people are given an opportunity for public comment. Check out the two pages of photos that I've taken over the years. Back in the 1990s, I took aerial photographs for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. Most of the wetland pictures were taken at 10,000 feet. All photos were taken in, above or adjacent to the Coteau hills of Burke, Mountrail and Ward counties; a home of myself, parents, grandparents and great grandparents.
